We are MJ Photo Images, Jerry Granaman and Michael Hamma .

WELCOME TO OUR AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHY

Our goal is to hopefully create photographic images that people and business would like to use in their homes and offices. By having two photographers we are able to offer two perspectives of things we see. Sometimes of the same subject matter, but viewed and interpreted in very different ways.

Jerry Granaman: I got my start in photography quite by accident, I was always interested in art, I drew, and painted . A friend in college wanted to purchase a new camera but in order to do so had to sell his old one. More to help him, than out of want, I bought his camera along with which he gave me a roll of black and white film. It was love at first roll, so to speak. The next thing I knew I was saving every cent to buy dark room equipment, which I finally did, only I had no idea how to use any of it, With a little help from friends, reading books , and mostly just trying things, I learned over the years, many secrets of and spent many wonderful hours in the dark room. Just when I thought I had things down to an art form, along came digital .. All new, all different, I had to start learning all over again. I guess that is why I have such a strong love for photography.

After thirty years I am still able to learn something new all the time, never bored, always amazed and fascinated by the medium of Photography. Black and white remains my favorite with a strong leaning towards night shots.

You will notice that many of my photos are in New Orleans, where I have spent a good share of my time the last 18 years. It is a city I love, I find a certain beauty, peace and a lot of history in the buildings there, they speak volumes, and hopefully a small part of that love of a city shows in my photographs.

My work has been published in Midwestern Trails Magazine, Buena Vista Magazine, several Coffee table books,and newspapers, and have earned top awards in several Photographic and Gallery shows.
